Steel City Sound did not disappoint! From the planning to the day of, Matthew and his team made our wedding a night to remember.
Matthew is very personable, organized and client focused. We found Steel City Sound online when we were initially looking for a DJ for our wedding- no prior knowledge of them before we chose them. Leading up to the wedding, Matthew had met with us a couple times via phone call and email. He used a simple and accessible shared document for us to chip away at our evening/dance plan. This was a major plus! We loved being able to work away and plug in the information at our own pace.
Gordon was our DJ the day of. Needless to say, Gordon knows how to read a room and keep the crowd engaged and on the dance floor. We’ve had many guests say this was the most they have ever danced at a wedding before. Gordon did an amazing job mixing a variety of Disco Polo music into the evening too. The night would not have been the same without him. We had such a blast with Gordon.

We chose Steel City Sound as our DJ vendor for both our stag and doe and our wedding. We worked with Matt on the planning side and Gordon on the DJ side and they were both awesome to work with.
Matt is super professional, detail oriented and made it easy to get a sense of how our day would flow.
And Gordon was just awesome - he made sure all the right people were present for our speeches, was a fantastic MC, and played a variety of music to make sure everyone had a great time. So many of our wedding guests commented on how great he was, and we couldn’t agree more!

Matt was the DJ for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding a few weeks back. Such an amazing time. Matt really knows how to drive a party atmosphere and is such a chill dude.
I'm 100% not a guy that likes to be out dancing but somehow I was there almost all night having the time of my life. Great selection. Great variety. Something for everyone. Plus he handled the MC part perfectly.
There was never any lull and he kept things moving so the night ran incredibly smooth. Would easily recommend Steel City Sound to anyone looking for a DJ. He made it such a great party that will be hard to beat in the future. Thanks for fun time. I'll have to crash future weddings he DJ's to relive the experience.

My husband and I hired Matt from Steel City Sound to DJ our wedding on April 28, 2023. Matt was welcoming and professional from the very start!
He really went above and beyond to make sure all the music, speeches, and reception timeline was in order and to our liking. Our wedding reception was at John Michaels Banquet Hall in Thorold and Matt had never DJ'd there before but you would have never known that!! His set up, lights, sound system, EVERYTHING was on point and our guests danced the entire night!
Matt accepted all kinds of song requests and even played a song from my cousins band Low Animal which was so special to me and my family! My husband and I cannot thank Matt enough for his hard work and dedication to our wedding. His organization and attention to detail was incredible and really made the music aspect of our wedding stress-free.

We had Matt DJ our wedding on November 10th and it was FANTASTIC!!!
Matt was so organized and flexible throughout the process leading up to our wedding. He stayed in touch, took our requests beforehand, and was very helpful in providing us with resources for our MC who had not done it before.
On the day of, Matt connected with the wedding party and venue to ensure everything ran smoothly, and it did! The music he played was PERFECT, both during dinner and for the party afterwards! He did a great mix to make everyone feel included, and we had people of all ages on the dance floor!
My favourite part about Matt was every time I looked over at him that night, he was singing and dancing along to the music too - his passion for his job truly shines through!!!! I would definitely recommend Steel City Sound, and my best friend has already booked him for her wedding next August. Thanks Matt for making our wedding a great party!!

Matt was the DJ for our destination wedding. Which I could imagine being a very challenging adventure for him. But he accepted that challenge and fully exceeded our expectations.
Matt was in constant communication with our wedding planner in Dominican, having to learn the best way to bring his music, but leave his equipment at home. He even met with her and the resident DJ the day before the wedding, you never would have known he was using equipment that he was unfamiliar with just the day before!
Matt is so incredibly detail oriented and the two meetings we had with him were wonderful! He is so supportive and easy going, it was really a fun time planning with him. Matt really wanted to add special touches to the reception, even including my parents first dance song from 35 years ago. Which was such a surprise to them and they were so impressed that it was Matts idea.
It was such a fun night, and it would not have been the same without Matt. His energy is infectious and at the end of the night even the waiters were on the dancefloor! He was absolutely amazing and we can't thank him enough for all the hard work he put into our reception.
We provided a challenge and he delivered 110%.

For our niece's wedding, from the planning stages, to the ceremony and through to the reception, Matt was professional, dependable, adaptable and very easy to work with.
There were some last minute changes that would have rattled the rest of us, but Matt took it all in stride, met the challenges head on and professionally and I don't think the guests realized any changes were made.
As first time emcees, we appreciated the tips and direction Matt was able to provide us and made our job easier and less stressful. As our niece said, "Matt was fantastic, everyone enjoyed themselves and it was because of him" (the bride and groom may have had a hand in that as well, but you get the gist).
We're looking forward to another Steel City Sound event as another niece (the bride's sister) has also booked their services for her wedding next year. We highly recommend Matt and Steel City Sound to anyone that is looking for someone to provide them with an enjoyable and professional event.

Steel City Sound (Matt) DJ'ed our wedding in August 2022 and he was INCREDIBLE!
Matt was organized and professional from the very first conversation, and his packages are incredibly well priced. Music was very important to us, and he listened patiently to all of our requests, "do-not play" list, and kept the dance floor full the entire night. Matt also acted as our MC and everyone loved him!
He was also able to do a second set-up for our ceremony so we could have music as guests arrived. Our day would not have been the perfect day it was without Matt!
Oh, and did I mention this was all done outdoors, with limited power supply, AND under our tent? He nailed it! Hire him!

Matt was an absolutely amazing DJ for our wedding in September! He's very friendly and his communication and organization before the event is super prompt and clear.

"We've had Steel City Sound at two family events now, and honestly, we'll probably have him at all future events, as well.
The first event was a large baby shower we hosted where, on top of the awesome playlist, sound system, and wireless mic he provided, he also created an awesome custom song medley for a game we had planned! We got so many compliments on that event, and he played a big role in that success.
Most recently (April 2023), we had him DJ my parents' 50th wedding anniversary celebration.
Not only was the music throughout the party absolutely perfect, the uplighting looked beautiful, and when he overheard my parents talking about their first dance song, he surprised us all by playing it so they could dance to it again. For us (their daughters) and their grandchildren to get to see them re-live that special moment was something we'll never forget. There wasn't a dry eye in the room!
